Fights in the Italian government. The prime minister left the NATO summit earlier

Since Thursday, Italy has been represented by Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerini at the Madrid meetings of the leaders of the countries associated with the alliance. The official communiqué, issued by the Prime Minister Draghi’s office, informing that the prime minister had to leave Madrid due to the necessity to participate in the government meeting in the capital, is a sign of greater troubles shaking Rome. The topics of Thursday’s meeting are to be budget matters, inflation and energy problems, but – as reported by the Italian media – it is really about serious tension within the government.
