CROUS grants based on social criteria

Any student or future student on the platform Parcoursup automatically receives a connection kit to open his personal account on: messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr

This account will serve him in all his procedures:
Scholarship Application via the Student Social File (DSE) to be completed online between January 15 and May 15, scholarship simulation, request for accommodation in a university residence, making an appointment with the CROUS services.

At ESA, BTS, Professional License, Engineer and Master courses are entitled to receive a grant on social criteria for students. In 2017/2018, 30% of students are beneficiaries. A stock market simulator is available on the site simulateur.lescrous.fr

Apprentices or young people on a professionalization contract do not have access to higher education scholarships.

Do not wait to know your final admission: apply for the scholarship before May 15th.

The DSE is managed by email with the CNOUS and your scholarship is then confirmed, in September, after your entry into training. Payments are made each month by the CROUS.

Specific aids

In order to best respond to the particular situations of certain students, specific aid may be allocated. These aids can take two forms:

One-off specific assistance

It is emergency financial assistance, personalized, intended for students, scholarship holders or not, who temporarily encounter financial difficulties that could jeopardize their pursuit of studies. It can be combined with a scholarship based on social criteria, an annual allowance, international mobility aid, merit aid.

Conditions :

  • Be registered in initial training.
  • Be under 35 years of age at 1is September of the current school year.
  • If the situation warrants it, several one-off grants may exceptionally be granted during the same school year.

Procedure :

  • Students are informed by email about the specific aid to which they can claim.
  • The file must be collected from the Registration Department.
  • For engineering students : The request is examined by the internal commission of ESA which issues an award or non-award notice and decides on the amount of aid granted. This aid is financed by a grant issued by the DGER (Ministry of Agriculture) and helps students throughout the school year.
  • For BTS students : The file is evaluated by the DRAAF Pays de la Loire. The aid is paid by the Region.

At the end of the procedure, the student is informed by the establishment of the follow-up given to his request.

The specific annual aid

It is a financial aid granted to non-scholarship students who have to face specific perennial difficulties. It is the equivalent of a scholarship based on social criteria and thus allows you to be exempt from the student and campus life contribution (CVEC).

For engineering students, annual aid is paid by the Ministry of Agriculture. While for BTS students, the aid is funded by the DRAAF.

Annual aid cannot be combined with a grant based on social criteria. However, it can be combined with aid for international mobility, ad hoc aid and merit aid. It is paid during the school year in a maximum of 6 to 10 monthly installments.

Conditions :

  • Be registered in initial training
  • Be under 35 years of age at 1is September of the current school year.
  • Meet the conditions of scholarships based on social criteria (conditions of diploma, studies, nationality and attendance).
  • This concerns students in a situation of proven anomie, resuming studies (after 28 years), family breakdown or facing particular difficulties.
  • Any particular difficulty that does not make it possible to benefit from a grant based on social criteria may give rise to the payment of an annual allowance after consulting the committee.

Procedure :

  • Students are informed by email about the specific aid to which they can claim.
  • The file must be collected from the Registration Department.
  • For engineering students : The request is examined anonymously by a national commission which issues an award or non-award notice and decides on the amount of aid granted. The complete file must be sent to the DGER in order to be presented during the commission for specific annual aid. This aid is financed by the DGER (Ministry of Agriculture).
  • For BTS students : The file is evaluated by the DRAAF Pays de la Loire. This aid is paid by the Region.

At the end of the procedure, the student is informed by the establishment of the follow-up given to his request.

Who to contact

Any specific one-off or annual request for assistance must be subject to a social assessment by the CROUS social worker. The interview with the social worker makes it possible to assess the student’s situation (course of study and difficulties encountered), in order to consider all the support solutions that will make it possible to face the difficulties. Social assistance writes a social note and recommends possible help.

  • Sophie FLEURY (CROUS d’Angers) is the social worker in charge of higher agricultural education: [email protected]
  • Leicy PASTOR CORSO is ESA’s disability advisor supports students who make these requests: [email protected] (Registration Department – office 4270)
