BRitain is facing a "Rentnerexplosion". In some areas, the number of older people will rise to as much as 90 percent of the adult population.
Traditional coastal towns and rural towns and villages dominate the new "gray" hotspots of West Somerset and West Dorset in western England, North Norfolk and Suffolk in the east and Scarborough, Fylde, Ryedale and South Lakeland in the north.
According to the Office of National Statistics (ONS), the number of men and women over 65 is expected to increase by 40 percent to over 14 million by 2041.
