Finistere. The Ukrainian flag of the town hall burned in Plougastel-Daoulas

From “gratuitous and absurd degradations”. The mayor of Plougastel-Daoulas, Dominique Cap, does not hide his incomprehension after the Ukrainian flag of the city was burned, on the night of Saturday April 16 to Sunday April 17, 2022. The town hall being closed this Easter weekend , it was through a photo taken by a passerby and broadcast on social networks that he learned about it.

A complaint will be filed

“It’s the second time it’s happened, it had already been stolen a few weeks ago. We filed a complaint and recommended one,” adds the city councilor, who intends to file a complaint again this Tuesday, April 19, 2022. The surroundings of the wire allowing the flag to be lowered also had to be secured in order to avoid a third disappointment.

Not a political message for the mayor

For Dominique Cap, the degradation is “signed” : “We have problems with a gang of young people, we already had a trash can burnt a few days ago. » It should therefore not be seen as a political message. “People who did this don’t realize how lucky they are to live in such a country. This flag was erected to support people living in war, under bombardment. »
