At least one capacitor should have gone up in flames, as the Dresden Police Department TAG24 was able to confirm.

Washingtonstrasse was fully closed in the direction of the bridge. Surrounding shops and offices were evacuated as a precaution.

The fire brigade is fighting the flames with special extinguishing agents. Powder and carbon dioxide are used, among other things, according to a spokesman for the fire brigade.

According to initial information, the fire broke out in a high-voltage test field.

Why the fire broke out is not yet known and is part of the investigation.

As far as we know, no people have been harmed. A total of about 59 emergency services are on site.

As TAG24 has just been informed, the extinguishing success has come about and the flames have been brought under control.
