MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Wednesday afternoon, the West Virginiauniversity Host the first annual "I Heart Idea Hub Pitch Challenge".

Thirteen teams put their ideas from business innovation to new technology in front of a group of judges. The teams consisted of a mix of community team as well as students and employees of the WVU.

The winning team was sponsored by the Huntington Bank and received a prize of $ 2,500 for further development of their idea.

The university says that funding these projects will support economic development West Virginia,

"Funding helps drive innovation, whether it's an established business or prototyping, so helping them to grow their business and most of our clients stay in the status of West Virginia So we work towards movement West Virginia Forward, "said Emma Hartle, master of ceremonies for the event.

The winning team consisted of a group of WVU seniors for their company ICONIC EDU LLC, a technology company that builds STEM-based educational toys for children.
