One month after fire that destroyed the cathedral of Notre Dame, heart of Paris and the most visited religious temple in Europe, «ABC World News Tonight» includes in a report the first images of its interior after the flames.
In the video you can see the workers removing some of the damage caused by the fire, the hole caused in the roof and the state of the stained-glass window of the rosette, of an organ and of the altar and the cross, apparently intact.
Without the promised money
The 850 million euros of promised donations for the restoration of the cathedral of Notre Dame that emerged after the excitement caused by the fire, they have not yet been received by the managing foundations of the collections, has indicated the French Minister of Culture, Frank Riester.
«It is too early to conclude that we have enough or too much money for restoration. There may be a difference between the promises of donation and the payment of donations, "said Riester after visiting the cathedral, partly demolished and still closed to the public.
The person in charge of Culture reacted thus to the unilateral decision of the Patrimony Foundation, one of the four officials responsible for the collections, that gave by finalized the collection after obtaining 218 million Euros.
"It is premature to make a similar decision. Further, we do not have yet a figure of what the restoration works will represent. We must remain mobilized, this generosity with the foundations must continue to ensure that they are sufficient, "said the minister.
These pledges of up to 850 million euros also include the donations of 100 million euros and 200 million euros from the Pinault and Arnault families, owners of the luxury conglomerates Kering and LVMH.
