Fitbit announced more affordable smart watches Versa and
 children’s fitness tracker Ace

The company Fitbit has prepared to release immediately a couple of new wearable gadgets. One of the novelties was the smart Versa watch, which will replace the Blaze model.

Smart Fitbit Versa watches are made in a square-shaped case and equipped with a square touch LCD display, the diagonal and resolution of which is not yet specified. The device includes an accelerometer, a gyroscope, an altimeter and an optical heart rate sensor. There is no GPS module. The novelty is able to monitor the physical activity of the user and the heart rate in the 24/7 mode. Built-in memory allows you to store detailed information about the activity for the last 7 days and a general summary for 30 days. Built-in battery provides at least 4 days of battery life, and recharging takes 2 hours. The Fitbit Versa watch has a built-in Bluetooth 4.0 wireless module, and the special edition also has an NFC module, which allows you to make contactless payments.

The enclosure provides protection from the effects of water when submerged to a depth of 50 meters. The device operates under the operating system Fitbit OS and contains a pre-installed application Fitbit Coach, offering tips on playing sports. This summer it is planned to release an update of the firmware specifically for the female audience, which will add a mode of tracking the state of women’s health. Clever Fitbit Versa watches will go on sale in April for $ 199.

Another novelty is the company’s first fitness tracker, aimed at children’s audiences. The device is called Ace. This model is designed for use by children aged 8 years (but for the creation of an account for users under 12 years will require the help of parents). In fact, it is a modified version of Fitbit Alta with a reduced customized strap and updated software, from which data that can be irrelevant to children, for example, the number of calories burned, is deleted. But the screen will show the goals for the activity according to the age of users. The main goal of Fitbit Ace is to encourage children to develop habits of exercising more physical activity from an early age. Parents can use the Fitbit application to track the level of activity of children and their sleep time, and also to approve contacts with which children can share information about activity. At the same time Ace owners’ accounts will not be able to access the social components of a regular Fitbit application. Also in the children’s version, the number of interface settings that are available for customization is limited. The novelty can not be removed in the shower, and the duration of autonomous work is stated at the level of 5 days. The children’s fitness tracker Fitbit Ace will go on sale in the second quarter, its price will be $ 99.95.
