Together with smart-watches Versa company Fitbit announced and its first pedometer for children, designed for the youngest audience. Fitness bracelet Fitbit Ace is intended for users aged 8 years and offers their parents to organize control over the loads of their child during a period of active pastime.
The Fitbit Ace model looks like the Fitbit Alta version, which has undergone minor cosmetic improvements, without changes in the basic functionality. The novelty was developed taking into account the peculiarities of children’s behavior and the physiology of their organism. As a result, the strap of the Ace pedometer has become thinner and has lost several millimeters in width. The range of its adjustment has also decreased, which now is designed exclusively for the medium-sized wrist, and the metal case has been replaced by a plastic one. The main difference between Fitbit Ace and Alta model is the reworked software, which can be used by parents to encourage children to develop physically.
Parents will be able to access the statistics of the child’s physical activity, track the duration of his sleep and, of course, monitor the list of “contact-friends” with whom he shares fitness achievements. At the same time Ace accounts are not intended for integration with social services, available to other users of portable electronics from Fitbit. Autonomy Ace is similar to its predecessor: the device is capable of operating without recharging for up to five days.
Fitbit Ace shipments are scheduled for Q2 2018. The cost of the bracelet on the US market will be $ 100, which is $ 29 less than the manufacturer’s established price tag for the Alta model. The gadget is available for pre-order in purple and blue color.
