OL Mercato: It was one of the big issues in the Lyon transfer window, Maxence Caqueret has just extended his contract with his training club.
OL Mercato: Les Gones formalize the extension of Caqueret
OL supporters can rejoice, Maxence Caqueret will still be from Lyon next season. Indeed, the formalization of the signing of the player trained at the club was eagerly awaited, it is now done. In a video showing the course of the midfielder, from the youth sections to the first team, Olympique Lyonnais has just announced the extension of one of its best elements. While the player’s contract ended in a year, the Gones therefore no longer risk seeing their nugget leave free at the end of next season.
This season, Maxence Caqueret has established himself a little more as a central piece of the Lyon project by taking a very important place in the locker room and on the lawn. At only 22 years old, the native of Vénissieux is already an OL executive and therefore wants to continue to progress under the colors of his training club. Eleven years after joining the Les Gones training center, Caqueret is writing a new page in his adventure with Olympique Lyonnais.
OL Mercato: Caqueret extends until 2026
For its 22-year-old player, OL did not want to take any risks and therefore concluded a long-term lease to be sure to keep him for several more years in the Rhône. A desire visibly shared by the player who therefore signs until 2026 and reaffirms in the video all his love for the Lyon club. As he says himself: ” It’s thanks to OL that I became the player and the man that I am.“As a reminder, Caqueret has been targeted in recent months by several top names, including the Milan AC et Manchester United.
A fine statement that will certainly please OL supporters. At the end of a complicated season, Les Gones want to perpetuate their young people from the training center by multiplying contract extensions or professional signings as for Mohammed El Arouch. The signing of Maxence Caqueret is therefore very good news for the club which will now seek to extend the lease of its other cracks, Ryan Cherki et Malo Gusto.
