WASHINGTON (AP) – The Southeastern United States is struggling with huge amounts of water: The huge storm depression "Florence" has carried heavy rain into the region over the whole weekend. Large parts of the states of North Carolina, South Carolina and now also areas of southern Virginia are flooded. Storm surges in the Atlantic have blocked rivers to record highs. Their water pushes ever further inland. Several people have already been killed. The authorities confirmed six deaths, media reported significantly more victims.
