- Florida prepares for the arrival of Hurricane Nicole with evacuations
As Tropical Storm Nicole intensifies, Florida authorities have issued mandatory evacuations in some areas with closures of schools, airports, etc. The possible hurricane will have a high impact in some coastal areas of Florida

Tropical Storm Nicole will intensify to a Category 1 hurricane

According to the NHC, at 0600 UTC on November 9, 2022, the center of Tropical Storm Nicole was 465 km east of Florida and was moving west-southwest near 18 km/h approaching the Bahamas and Florida. .

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 110 km/h with higher gusts.
Some strengthening is expected during the next few hours, and it is forecast that Nicole will become a hurricane tonight and will remain a hurricane when it reaches the east coast of Florida.

Nicole is expected to become a Category 1 hurricane near the northwestern Bahamas on Wednesday, November 9, maintain that intensity until it makes landfall along Florida’s Atlantic coast sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

Nicole is forecast to make landfall in Florida as a hurricane, generating coastal flooding, high winds, rough seas and storm surge. Its effects will be felt before Nicole’s core hits the ground.

The storm surge will be intense and along with rough seas will cause very very damaging effects:
