The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has warned against purchasing or consuming wild honey and honey products for the brand SARABEE because it violates the Gulf Technical Regulations.
The Commission said in a statement on its website «www.sfda.gov.sa» that the substance of hydroxide methylformal «HMF» in the products of wild flower honey and honey for the brand «SARABEE» produced in India, exceed the limit in the Gulf Technical Regulation No. 147 Honey Bee.
It also recommended that consumers avoid consumption of these products and get rid of them immediately, in order to maintain their health, noting that they continue to implement the necessary procedures to ensure that the markets are free of them. This is illustrated by the brand “SARABEE” as the following table.
