Freiburg (dpa) – SC Freiburg could at least temporarily jump to second place in the Bundesliga with a win this Friday evening (8.30 p.m. / DAZN) against VfL Bochum. However, the Breisgauers have not won three home games in a row across the seasons. Opponent is the so far pointless bottom VfL Bochum.
For Freiburg, whose goalkeeper Mark Flekken is about to play his 50th Bundesliga game, Yannik Keitel will replace Maximilian Eggestein, who has just had his wrist operated on, in midfield. Further changes are unlikely in the team of SC coach Christian Streich.
The recently injured or ailing Konstantinos Stafylidis and Patrick Osterhage are again an option at VfL. Guest coach Thomas Reis is hoping for a defiant reaction from his team after the recent 7-0 defeat against FC Bayern Munich.
