For its last at home, Sporting Charleroi wins its first victory in Europe Playoffs against Mechelen

LSporting Charleroi won its first Jupiler Pro League Europe Playoff victory on Saturday. In a superfluous match, KV Mechelen were beaten 3-2.

Charleroi climbs to third place in the standings ahead of Mechelen, with 31 points. Mechelen has 29 points. Mechelen took the lead in the 21st minute through a header from Gustav Engvall, after Charleroi goalkeeper Hervé Koffi went under a corner. The two teams were equal and Charleroi equalized after 34 minutes. Ken Nkuba hit the mark with a magnificent long shot. After the break, Vakoun Bayo was the most accurate Carolo with two goals (53. and 71.).

The Ivorian has already scored eleven goals in Charleroi in just four months. Engvall brought tension to the match with his second of the night, but Mechelen did not advance. It remained 3-2. On Sunday, there will be Racing Genk-AA Gent in the European play-offs at 4:00 p.m. Genk must win to keep the tension going. For Ghent, one point is enough to be sure of the final victory in the European play-offs.
