From Small tables for great recipes… Here is what concocts on Montluçon (Allier), since last November, Vanessa Bortone, 46 years old. The small tables, that’s the name of his culinary workshop micro-enterprise, which she dispenses at her home. As for the great recipes, it is to know them that we went to cook the chef!

The chef’s journey

“I was first agent commercial in cosmetics, then ten years ago I got tired of this environment, of being squeezed like a lemon”… So Vanessa Bortone made sure to be able to squeeze the lemons herself.

“I’ve always liked to cook, so I spent a kitchen CAP in Montluçon in 2010”. There followed various restaurant experiences in the city or in a collective kitchen (retirement home, collective stay for children, etc.).

“Strengthened by all this, I realized that I loved cooking, but that I also loved sharing and transmitting to others. This is how the idea of ​​culinary workshops at my home germinated. »

It’s in the specially fitted kitchen for this new activity, within her Montluçonnaise house, that the forty-something receives us. “Now I’m the head chef and I like it,” she smiles. His motto:

“Working in conviviality, with an idea of ​​sharing knowledge and know-how, around seasonal and local cuisine based on local products”.

Behind this tempting appetizer, there are workshops open to all, adults and children (From the age of 8). In groups of six, on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays, all have a good time and gossip during two hours and a half around’a chosen theme by Vanessa Bortone. She offers four a month and they change every two months.

The menus

For example, for January then February, the menu is as follows: Batch cooking – “preparing several meals at once for the week” –; bread dough and pizza; legumes – “soup, dish in sauce or croquettes based on lentils” –; and Valentine’s Day, “with a romantic “love” dinner but also an anti-Cupid version for singles! “.
