Kathmandu – Former IPL player and Nepal cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichane has been remanded to police custody for seven days in the case of taking a fan to a hotel and torturing him. The actor was produced in a court in Kathmandu on Monday. Sandeep was arrested by the police when he arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport on October 6.
The complaint of the 17-year-old girl is that on August 21, Sandeep took her to various places in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur and then took her to a hotel that night and tortured her. Following the complaint, Lamichane was removed from the captaincy. The Kathmandu District Court had issued an arrest warrant against Sandeep, but the player was abroad to play in the Caribbean Premier League.
Lamichane, who did not respond to the issue for a month, took a stance on the social media that he was innocent the other day. Sandeep Lamichan was informed that he will reach the airport in Kathmandu and face legal action. Sandeep was taken away from the airport by the Nepalese police in handcuffs.
