Four clubs of the German Bundesliga were on the verge of bankruptcy due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is reported by Kicker.

According to the publication, the clubs will announce self-liquidation in May or June if the matches of the national championship do not resume. In addition, nine clubs of the second Bundesliga risk going bankrupt. The reasons are the lack of payments under contracts with sponsors and television.

On March 24, it was reported that footballers playing in the Bundesliga massively went on salary cuts due to a pause in the championship caused by the coronavirus pandemic. It was noted that this will save the work of many club employees.
