After an accident involving four trucks, the A3 towards Würzburg was closed. Traffic was backed up on a long stretch.
A serious accident occurred on the A3 near Aschaffenburg in the early evening. As reported by Bayerischer Rundfunk, among others, the motorway in the direction of Würzburg was closed for several hours. Traffic is now being diverted around the scene of the accident.
According to “Main-Echo”, there was a backlog at around 4.45 p.m. A truck driver recognized the situation too late and pushed three trucks in front of each other. The driver was trapped, so the rescue work was difficult. Traffic was backed up for miles.
The accident happened between the Aschaffenburg-Ost and Hösbach junctions near Goldbach.
