North Carolina, Charlotte – To help eligible families for the Child Tax Credit who have not filed their taxes, the IRS announced free aid events.
The activities will take place in selected cities, which will be attended by the Taxpayer Assistance Centers IRS (TAC) alongside key community volunteers.
The city of Charlotte, the only selected city in North Carolina, will hold its event on Saturday, July 24 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
The IRS reminded that, to receive payments, families must file a 2020 tax return.
Additionally, the IRS noted that this year, Child Tax Credit (CTC) 2021 advance payments are sent monthly from July through December to eligible taxpayers.
What information should you have?
To make the registration process quick and smooth, please prepare the following information:
- Your children’s social security numbers
- Social security numbers or ITIN numbers for you and your spouse
- Postal address
- Email address
- Your bank account information if you want to receive your payments by direct deposit
