From September, KAI increased the number of train trips to 315 trips per day

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or PT KAI added train trips in September, including the Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang, Purwokerto, Blitar, Cilacap, Malang and Jember routes.

VP Public Relations of KAI Joni Martinus said, KAI is gradually increasing the number of train trips in Java and Sumatra to accommodate more people who wish to take the train.

“Additional train trips in September include routes from Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang, Purwokerto, Blitar, Cilacap, Malang, Jember, and others,” explained Joni through an official broadcast, Monday (31/8).

Joni said that the average train trip in September 2020 was 315 train trips per day, up 36% compared to August 2020, which was 232 train trips per day.

As for the details, long distance trains rose 77% from an average of 75 trains per day in August, to an average of 133 trains per day in September. Meanwhile, local trains rose 16% from an average of 157 trains per day in August, to an average of 182 trains per day in September.

The favorite routes that KAI re-operate are Jayakarta train (Jakarta Kota – Surabaya Gubeng pp), Majapahit (Pasar Senen – Malang pp), Malioboro Ekspres (Yogyakarta – Malang pp), and other trains.
