From the Inca the path of science in our country is built

Until this June 1 and prior to World Environment Day, specialists from the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences (Inca) located in Mayabeque, carry out the Final Balance Workshop of the projects of the Financial Funds for Science and Innovation (Fonci) for their acronym.

Chaired by the DrC. Alexander Miranda Caballero and Yanelis Camejo Serrano, Director General and Director of Science and Technological Innovation respectively, in this center, the meeting constitutes a valuable space for professional improvement for those who defend science, technology and innovation, as an essential bulwark that favors the objectives of the National Plan for Economic and Social Development in Cuba.

“We are in this final balance making known our main impacts in agricultural sciences and directly what we have been able to bring to the producers, to the peasants and the entire training system that was achieved with these projects and with the results obtained as records of varieties and generalization of our bioproducts», assured the DrC. Yanelis Camejo Serrano, Director of Science and Technological Innovation of the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences.

The researcher also specified how the meeting has been an opportune moment to learn about new methodologies and to express as scientists the main challenges and problems before Citma managers in the largest of the Antilles.

In the Final Balance Workshop of the Financial Funds for Science and Innovation, in addition to evaluating impacts and results in the country, exchanges were promoted with representatives of Citma on issues related to project activity, new resolutions and possible ways for international collaboration , while advancing scientific growth in four fundamental lines: Genetic Improvement of Plants, Biofertilizers and Nutrition of C, Plant Ecophysiology and Bioactive Products and Management of Sustainable Agro-ecosystems.

That is why Seferino Julio Santana, Director of Programs and Strategic Projects of the General Directorate of Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, highlights the importance of the appointment, where he explains that as part of the rectory that has the Citma to the different national and territorial programs, it is essential to evaluate and verify the effectiveness that the execution of the projects have had based on the expected results and the outputs in each of the schedules in the scientific, economic, in the environmental and social order.
