The government will increase aid to countries in the south affected by the war in Ukraine by NOK five billion. FRP is skeptical of the proposal.
– We are positive about humanitarian aid and emergency aid when acute crises arise, but we are not in favor of putting it as an obligation and guide for future aid projects, says Frps Hans Andreas Limi to NTB after the government’s press conference on Monday morning.
There it emerged that the government will give NOK 75 billion to Ukraine over five years, as well as NOK 5 billion to southern countries affected by the war.
– This with increased support for the countries in the south is a request from the budget agreement between the government and SV. It is important for SV to increase the aid percentage, but the Progress Party does not want that, he emphasizes.
Half of the five billion will go to humanitarian aid, while the other half will go to food aid for countries that are now experiencing hunger as a result of the war in Ukraine.
