Fruity Sessions: „Fruits am Markt”

Rewrite this content

Yes, exactly, Doggi, and on the bass too: Markus Dorfmann is one of the musicians who were invited to the studio by Fruity Sessions for their new song. Photo/Artwork: Fruity Sessions

There are only two of them and they have a tight handful of songs as of now Fruity Sessions released. Actually there are exactly four: „Wannabe”, „One More Move”, „Stray Dog” and „Blue Shades”. These four songs have a lot in common: They were written and produced by Fabian Pichler (u.a. Shanti Powa) and Alex Richter (u.a. Beyond Hills), they were recorded live and simultaneously by Hannes Lercher recorded with the cam. These four songs also have in common that – as mentioned at the beginning – guests keep appearing and that these songs are held together by a soulful-funky-pop red thread. In short: good videos for good songs.

With today – Friday, January 20, 2023 – song number 5 will be released: “Fruits at the Market”.

For this fifth song, Pichler and Richter brought five musicians from the most diverse musical backgrounds into the studio: pop musicians Jonas Oberstaller (Voice), Max Elia Schweigkofler (synth and voice and with Pichler in the band Partu), Manuel Pichler or Manu mixed consumption (drums) and singer-songwriter Markus „Doggi” Dorfmannwho neither sings nor plays the guitar here, but can be found on the bass, his actual or, better, original instrument, to be precise.

The concept provides the following: “The basis is always a song that is written in advance and then performed live during the session.” Fruity Sessions also want to be stylistically different “do not specify” and so “influences from pop, hip hop, neo soul, funk, indie and jazz cannot be ignored.”

There is nothing to add to that, except that “Fruits am Markt” follows the previous songs in terms of atmosphere, comes with German lyrics and above all Dorfmann with his bass and Oberstaller and Richter with their partial falsetto voices the Fruity Sessions overall sound add new facets. Smooth is also a term that may apply here.
