There is still an investigation into the report that there were racist and sexist problems while Gabrielle Union worked on America has talent. The research is not complete, but other stars have talked about their experience working on the program. Find out what Union said in response and more.
“America’s Got Talent” is being investigated after Gabrielle Union’s departure
SAG-AFTRA announced that it initiated an investigation into the alleged circumstances behind which the Union is not requested to return to America has talent.
This is after Variety reported that the producers did not report a racist joke that was made during filming even though the Union pressed him. A source also claimed that his hair was considered “too black” for the audience.
The union issued a statement on the investigation, according to page six.
We take health and safety problems in the workplace very seriously. We immediately contacted Mrs. Union’s representatives when these reports came to light. It is our practice to work closely with the members who communicate with us and their representatives in cases such as this, since that generally provides the best protection and the best resolution for the affected member.
Terry Crews and Heidi Klum defended the show.
Now that the show is back with America’s Got Talent: The Champions, The stars are asked about their own experience. Heidi Klum said only positive things.
“I only had an amazing experience,” Klum said according to E! News. “I can’t speak for [Gabrielle]. I did not experience the same. For me, everyone treats you with the greatest respect. I’ve never seen anything strange or hurtful. “
Host, Terry Crews also defended the show when it comes to diversity. “It just wasn’t my experience,” he told Us Weekly. “It was the best experience I’ve had in my entire life.”
“When they talk about diversity, there was all the diversity on the set, everywhere,” he said. “I’ve never been to a more diverse place in 20 years of entertainment, so what can I say?”
The union tweeted about other people who broke an agreement
The actress did not mention names, but showed her discontent with other people who spoke before the investigation was completed. First he responded to a writer who showed support tweeting, “Thank you [sic]! Why [sic] girlllllll [sic] Telling the truth, wanting a change and having MULTIPLE witnesses who bravely came forward to let everyone know that I did not lie or exaggerate, really exposes those who enthusiastically will throw them under the bus, quickly forgetting who climbed 4 HIS TRUTH. “
Then she responded to another tweeting writer, “Why would someone get up happily on television and lie that NO ONE disputed … But we already know that.”
She tweeted, “Can anyone ask abt [sic] what happens with all that diversity that people talk about BEHIND THE SCENES. Like, legitimate … where the hell is all that diversity in production though homie? In the decision-making ranks that control the fate of diversity in front of the camera?
Then he tweeted: “Maaaaaan … We all agreed to let the investigation be completed before speaking, but if we do this … ohhhhh baby let’s go aoooooooooo!”
According to reports, the investigation will be completed at the end of January.
