VIVA National – The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, was furious with the emergence of cases of teachers bullying their students. This time it happened at SMA Negeri 1. A student named S (15), was allegedly a victim of bullying because he did not wear a headscarf. Until now, S is reluctant to go to school because he is afraid.

S’s parents, Agung Purnomo, said that after the incident, their son still wanted to go to school. But because he was suspected of being bullied by his seniors, S asked to be taken home and was reluctant to go to school again.

Ganjar gave an ultimatum, if a similar case was found in the future, he would immediately confront him.

“Let me just remind you that no one has a hidden agenda. One thing I strongly warn against is bullying. All teachers should not bully their students for any reason,” said Ganjar quoted on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Ganjar reminded students that they must develop and that the teacher is there to guide them. Not the other way around. Students are given space to be able to develop and teachers should provide good counseling to them, not then bully them for any reason. Even Ganjar does not hesitate to remove teachers if they are involved in the same case in the future.

“If necessary later if we find other findings, I ask all teachers to sign. I am firm,” he said.
