Reports that a delay in the construction of a new compressor station in Serbia will lead to a delay in the commissioning of a section of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline in that country contain a factual error. This is stated in the message “Gazprom” received by RBC.
“National gas transportation systems of the EU countries start from the border of Turkey with Bulgaria. Therefore, it is fundamentally incorrect to say that the Turkish Stream gas pipeline or its sections passes through the territory of European states, ”the message says.
The day before, on November 24, Platts, citing its sources, reported that due to a delay in Serbia, the commissioning of the local section of the Turkish Stream will be postponed until the spring of 2021.
Media reported on Serbia’s delay in commissioning its section of the Turkish Stream
“According to the plans of the Serbian side, the commissioning of a compressor station in Serbia was not planned in 2020, therefore it is incorrect to speak of a delay in its launch,” commented Platts in Gazprom.
