The case of failure to pay claims by insurance companies to customers in the last ten years has worried the public. Moreover, these cases of default occurred in large insurance companies, making public hopes of the insurance industry dashed.
The most recent case of default is PT Asuransi Jiwa Kresna or Kresna Life. The Kresna case adds to a series of life insurance default cases in Indonesia after previously being experienced by a customer of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero).
According to OJK, the Kresna Group life insurance company has violated the provisions regarding the implementation of recommendations on the results of previous examinations. Sanctions are stipulated through OJK letter number S – 342 / NB.2 / 2020 dated 3 August 2020.
