Georgina Verbaan has lost whole parts of her life in her head. The 43-year-old Klem actress confessed this on Friday in the NPO Radio 1 program Never sleep again.

“I’ve lost whole pieces of my life, it’s a good thing there’s a lot of footage,” says Verbaan. “Sometimes I look at that and then I think: okay.” The actress and writer thinks that these gaps are related to the fact that she was very young when she broke through in Good Times Bad Times at the age of fifteen. “These have been very intense times: I already lived together as a teenager, I was in that soap opera. I felt lonely and a lot happened.” She also describes in the conversation how for certain scenes she was “prime time as a 17-year-old girl in a bra and panties trembling on television. That was not okay afterwards.”

The cultural jack-of-all-trades, which can be seen in cinemas from next week in Klem: de film, often has the feeling that it consists of many separate islands. “It feels like pigment in paint,” she describes. “From the outside it looks like one color. But when you zoom in on it, it all turns out to be separate pieces. I sometimes miss cohesion.”

Harassment

Verbaan also said that she is going to the announced protest of Extinction Rebellion in The Hague on Saturday. The actress has decided to join the organization. “I just haven’t had any training yet,” she says. “I don’t want to call anyone up. But you can also go there as a supporter and stand next to the highway.”

The Klem actress expects that the action of the Public Prosecution Service, which took six activists from bed on Thursday because of the announcement of the protest, will cause many more people to come than expected: “This is harassment, and it is insane that it this way happened.”
