German champion in sport shooting from Oberlinxweiler: Anja Kurek

Gold for sports shooter Kurek from Oberlinxweiler

Anja Kurek from the shooting club “Ruhig Blut” Oberlinxweiler won the title at the German championships on the Olympic shooting range in Munich in the women’s air pistol (AG III) discipline with 368 rings.

In an exciting competition – the runner-up had only one ring less – the experienced marksman kept her nerve and celebrated her first title as German champion. It’s the greatest achievement of her career.

Kurek has been a top performer in the air pistol and sport pistol team of the Oberlinxweiler shooting club for several years. She is active in the state selection for the Saar Shooting Association and has already taken top placings at the state championships several times.

With the junior shooters Felix Schall and Ben Fensterseifer as well as Thomas Anschütz (air rifle men I) and Sascha Alsfasser (Olympic rapid fire pistol) four other members of the shooting club in Munich were at the start. They also performed well and achieved results in the range of their best performances.

The Schützenverein Oberlinxweiler offers all Olympic shooting disciplines from the school class from twelve years to old age. Furthermore, all large-caliber handgun disciplines can be shot on the underground 25-meter shooting range. The youth training takes place on Fridays from 5 p.m. in the Schützenhaus Oberlinxweiler (Hohlinger Straße 1).
