Germany at the Olympics 2021: This is the DFB squad
Stefan Kuntz could have nominated 22 players for the Olympics. However, since some players received no approval from their club, while others voluntarily canceled their participation for various reasons, Germany’s line-up consists of only 18 players.
So only 15 field players will represent the DFB in Japan. However, only three of the appointed players may be born before January 1, 1997, here Kuntz decided on Max Kruse (Union Berlin), Nadiem Amiri (Bayer Leverkusen) and Maximilian Arnold (VfL Wolfsburg).

Germany at Olympia 2021: TV, LIVE-STREAM, highlights – this is how you can watch the games of the DFB selection
In Germany you can watch the Olympics 2021 live on TV and in LIVE STREAM on three different channels: At Eurosport, ARD and ZDF. All three providers count as free TV and can therefore be received on television free of charge.
The Olympic football tournament falls within the area of responsibility of ARD and ZDF. The two public broadcasters share the broadcast of the games live on free TV – and of course they can then also be seen free of charge in the corresponding LIVE STREAM.
But which games are shown live? First of all, when it comes to football, the Olympic coverage is focused on the appearances of the German team. The first two group matches against Brazil and Saudi Arabia will be broadcast on ARD. The third game against Ivory Coast then runs on ZDF. In addition, all three games are broadcast in LIVE STREAM on DAZN, as the streaming broadcaster has a cooperation with Eurosport. There you can watch the games for free for a month.
If the DFB selection qualifies for the quarter-finals, this game will also be broadcast live by ARD or ZDF (which broadcaster is ultimately responsible will be decided at short notice). From the semi-finals onwards, all games in the Olympic soccer tournament will be shown live on free TV – regardless of whether Germany is still represented in the tournament or not.
The two semi-finals will each run live on ZDF on August 3, the match for third place on August 6 will be shown by ARD. The ZDF is responsible for the final on August 7th.
You can then see the highlights of the games in the reports on ARD or ZDF, which on the respective days are also distributed over the broadcasts in summaries of the German games.
