Berlin, November 5. The German authorities called on Ukraine to investigate the murder of Ekaterina Gandzyuk, the mayor of Kherson’s adviser, and bring the perpetrators to justice. It is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.
“The government of Germany is shocked by the death of Ukrainian activist Katerina Gandzyuk, who bravely opposed corruption. Condemn this sneaky attack. The case must be investigated as soon as possible, the perpetrators must be punished, ”the statement reads.
The German Foreign Ministry also stressed that Berlin is ready to continue to support any civil initiatives aimed at fighting corruption in Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that an unknown person poured the adviser to the mayor of Kherson, Ekaterina Gandzyuk, with concentrated sulfuric acid. The girl received a chemical burn of 35% of the body and died in the hospital.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the police to exert maximum efforts in order to catch the killers Gandzyuk.
We note, in parallel with the civil service, the deceased led an active public work in the organization “Center for Political Studies and Analytics“ Eidos ”, engaged in research in the field of public finances, the fight against corruption, and so on.
