Aston Villa have announced the sacking of Steven Gerrard after losing to Fulham.
The ex-Reds midfielder was signed to the Birmingham club last November. Gerrard moved to Villa Park from Rangers, who in the 2020/21 season the English specialist helped to become champions of Scotland.
In forty matches at the helm of Aston Villa, Steven Gerrard won only 13 wins, 8 draws and 19 losses. Birmingham have won just three of their starting eleven Premier League games this season and are currently seventeenth in the standings.
The 3-0 away defeat to Fulham on Thursday night was the last for the former Liverpool captain as head coach of the Birmingham side. On the same day, Aston Villa announced the departure of Gerrard, who spent just under a year at Villa Park.
Steven Gerrard became the fourth manager to be sacked during the 2022/23 season. Previously, Scott Parker, Thomas Tuchel and Bruno Lage lost their positions.
