Get out there and donate blood! Save lives this July 1 in the Tibás Health Area

The Tibás Health Area, administered by COOPESAIN RL, in coordination with the Health Board and the National Blood Bank, will hold a blood donation session on July 1.

This activity will take place from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon, at the Vision Hosanna church, in front of the Tibás Clinic.

“In the month of the celebration of our 32nd anniversary we call on the population to join the event and in what it represents: an act of solidarity to save lives,” said Walter Zúñiga, general manager of COOPESAIN RL

In order to donate, the person must be between 18 and 65 years old. Regular donors can donate up to age 70. In addition, weigh more than 52 kilos and measure more than 1.50 meters.

People who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 would have to wait 14 days to donate blood, according to the National Blood Bank. Likewise, anyone who has already overcome all the symptoms of the coronavirus can attend.

If you were vaccinated against Covid-19 with doses of AstraZeneca you will also have to wait 14 days, and those who received doses of Pfizer will be able to donate seven days after immunization.

The authorities remind potential donors not to eat fatty foods, such as milk, eggs, cheese or custard, or to attend two hours after breakfast to donate blood.

The interested party will be evaluated by the health personnel and must answer a questionnaire before becoming a candidate for donation. The whole process lasts 30 minutes, and at the end the person will receive a snack.
