The 26-year-old Guerreiro shook his Spanish opponent in the escape of Jonathan Castroviej about 300 m before the finish line in Roccaras in difficult conditions and after 208 km he scored the biggest victory of his career. At the same time, he took care of the second triumph for the EF Pro Cycling team at this year’s Giro and won the stage at the famous Italian race as the second Portuguese in history after Acacia Da Silva in the 1980s.

Of the cyclists from the forefront of the standings, the Dutchman Wilco Kelderman managed the final ascent of the first category best, finishing eighth with a distance of 1:38 and moving from third to second place. Almeida apparently suffered on the hill, lost about a quarter of a minute and is leading 30 seconds ahead of Kelderman.
