After the night rains, the burial ground near Głogoczów was blocked. A pond of water was created there, which made it impossible to pass. A dozen or so people were evacuated from flooded homes in this town. The Voivode of Lesser Poland ensured on Sunday about the financial support of the inhabitants of the Myślenice poviat. Those who have suffered as a result of the storm may submit applications for emergency aid in the amount of up to PLN 6,000.
The Voivode of Małopolska, Łukasz Kmita, said after Sunday’s meeting of the crisis team in Myślenice that, according to the latest forecasts, the weather situation in Małopolska could still be dangerous. Rainfall is expected in the south of the voivodeship, sometimes as high as 100 liters per square meter. – I appeal to all Małopolska residents and all residents of Małopolska to exercise extreme caution in order to adapt to the alerts sent to mobile phones. The scale of the element and the speed of water rising is so rapid that we should first take care of our health and life – said Kmita. On Sunday, the alarm levels were exceeded on the Skawinka and Szreniawa rivers. The Wysoczanka, Radoczanka and Kleczanka streams erupted from the shore. Last night, in some parts of the Myślenice poviat, the water dropped to 100 liters per square meter, which led to a rise in water. The element affected 104 residential and farm buildings.
Road no. 7 near Głogoczów (Małopolskie Voivodeship) was flooded after the night-time rainfall – this is a section of the so-called zakopianka. According to the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, a pond was created there, which completely blocked the passage. The road was impassable in both directions. As reported by the TVN24 reporter, “in the place where Zakopane usually is, a river is flowing now”. At its peak, there were 80 centimeters of water in the Zakopane area.

In Głogoczów itself, water flooded several houses. 18 people were evacuated from five buildings. – Already in the morning the water poured over the embankments, so it was literally a moment that I left the house through the window. It was impossible to leave (through the door-editor) because the water was pressing, says one of the women. – I went out the window and ran to my knees in the water, and this wave of water literally followed me – he adds.
In turn, one of the men says that, together with the household members, they noticed that “something is starting to happen” and started to run away, taking what they managed. – There were a lot of storms, but no one even thought that something like this could happen. We are terrified. Water came from above, from all sides, because we are in such a valley and flooded the buildings – said Jan Kantor, the head of the local Volunteer Fire Department.
At least three bridges in Krzyszkowice were damaged. The sewage treatment plant was flooded. Residents can obtain drinking water from water carts. In the primary school in Głogoczów, the boiler room was flooded. Three scout camps from the following poviats were evacuated as a preventive measure: Nowy Targ, Myślenicki and Sucha. Participants of two of these camps found shelter in local fire stations. In total, 84 people were evacuated, including 72 scouts.

Brigadier Krzysztof Batorski, spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the State Fire Service, said in an interview with TVN24 that “another day when the weather fronts rolled over our country” is behind us. – It was accompanied by lightning strikes, intense rainfall, strong gusty winds – he enumerated.
He informed that on Saturday, firefighters left for weather-related events over 1.5 thousand times. On Sunday, from midnight to 6 am already 290 times. The greatest number of interventions, he reported, concerned the Mazowieckie and Małopolskie voivodships.
