Goodbye to the ‘small ball’? The Rockets, interested in Joel Embiid

Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta has taken down his old project in just a few weeks. After confirming the departure of chief technician Mike D’Antoni, yesterday Daryl Morey, the architect of the Texas franchise for the last 13 years, said goodbye.

Fertitta seeks to ‘make a clean slate’ after being eliminated from the playoffs again, this time by a resounding 4-1 against the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Semifinals.

Do all these movements suppose the final goodbye of the Small Ball? And it is that according to information from the journalist Brandon Robinson, the Houston Rockets could be interested in undertaking a transfer for the center of the Philadelphia 76ers: Joel Embiid.

And with the Houston team, we cannot rule out any movement due to the need for Elton Brand, who should move in the market and try to get rid of at least one fat contract, be it Al Horford (2 years and 54 million dollars pending) or Tobias Harris (3 years, 113 million dollars).

Joel Embiid, who will complete his seventh season in Philadelphia (spent two years in the dark), averaged 23 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.1 blocks in 29.5 minutes of game.
