JAKARTA, KOMPAS TV – Member of Commission IX of the DPR PAN faction, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, assessed that the government’s plan to implement the Emergency Community Activity Restriction (PPKM) is still not effective in reducing the number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

“The policy is still full of responsibility. For example, 25 percent are still allowed to go to the office, go to malls, markets, wedding venues. So if it’s still like that, it doesn’t necessarily have a significant impact on people exposed to Covid-19,” Saleh told Kompas TV. , Tuesday (29/6/2021).

He appealed to the government to immediately implement stricter large-scale social restrictions (PSBB). For example, such as implementing a weekend lockdown policy.

“If it’s a bit heavy, I offer a weekend lockdown. At least 2 days and 3 nights there is no spread of the virus. So even though the policy later on, it must be firm and strict,” he said.

According to him, if you continue to use the rules that have been implemented now, it seems that the government has no intention of reducing the spike in Covid-19 cases.

In addition, even if you apply a weekend lockdown, it will not consume too large APBN or APBD funds. Because people can still work from Monday to Friday.
