The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia demanded to remove the video message from schema igumen Sergiy (Nikolai Romanov) from the YouTube video hosting service, in which he urged not to participate in the vote on constitutional amendments. This was reported to “Novaya Gazeta” by the speaker of the monastery Vsevolod Moguchev.

The notification of Roskomnadzor, which Moguchev handed over to the newspaper, states that the Prosecutor General’s Office recognized two fragments of the appeal of the scheming as invalid. In one of them, he called not to go to polling stations, because it would legitimize the power of the slave and the power of the future Antichrist. In a second appeal, Romanov claimed that Hasidim ruled Russia (a religious movement in Judaism. – RBC) Moguchev confirmed that the record will be deleted.

RBC sent a request to the press service of the Prosecutor General and the press service of Roskomnadzor.

The appeal of the schema of Sergius appeared on YouTube in the user account of Vsevolod Moguchev on June 28.

At the end of May, the shiigumen released a video message in which he called the coronavirus pandemic a myth and called for disobedience to church leaders and authorities that temporarily prohibited attendance of worship services. After that, the Center for Countering Extremism of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Sverdlovsk Region organized an audit. Inspectors found signs of incitement to hatred in the clergyman’s speech.

Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg and Verkhotursky Cyril forbade the ministry to schemyumen Sergiy until his case was considered by a church court.

On June 27, TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak, along with the film crew, arrived at the Sredneuralskiy Convent for the filming of a film about the shiigumen. However, during the visit they were attacked. According to Sobchak, the “hefty bulls” took the camera away from the film crew and took the beatings, and the director Sergey Yerzhenkov got his arm broken. The presenter announced her intention to sue after the incident.
