The German-American Volksfest Grafenwöhr was initially planned from July 30th to August 1st. Now it had to be canceled.
After an intensive examination, the US Army Garrison Bavaria decided not to organize the traditional German-American Volksfest Grafenwöhr due to the current Corona protective measures and restrictions.
As always, the safety and health of soldiers, employees, families and the expected visitors enjoy the highest priority at the US garrison, says the press release. Even with the current decline in the number of infections and the increasing number of vaccinations, those responsible see the decision as the safest measure at the present time.
Although the US Army Garrison Bavaria would of course have liked to celebrate the folk festival, they follow the example of the host country to remain cautious at major events. She is now looking forward to next year in order to be able to welcome the German guests again at the German-American folk festival in Grafenwöhr, if the number of infections will hopefully continue to decline.
