Canada is a continental country of extremes: big cities contrast with seemingly endless wilderness and unique flora and fauna. Countless islands dot Canada’s shores, and their beauty attracts thousands of tourists every year. On the east coast, an eco-hotel and several artists’ homes have given Fogo Island an unexpected economic and social boom. An architect works in Montreal who wants to create a future model for building houses. First and foremost, however, we go to Vancouver. There is a district in which environmental protection is practiced at the highest level. A few miles from Vancouver, members of a community have embarked on an adventure: building green buildings that are easily accessible and providing schools with innovative curriculum. It is the so-called UniverCity – a city in the middle of nature!
