Armando Broja, Chelsea wonderkid to replace Olivier Giroud.

INDOSPORT.COM – Erling Haaland who never came finally made Chelsea officially fence off his wonderkid, Armando Broja to replace Olivier Giroud who left for AC Milan in the transfer market this summer.

Chelsea have announced that they have agreed to extend Armando Broja’s contract for the next five seasons or until June 2026, Sunday (18/07/21).

“Armando Broja has signed a long-term contract with Chelsea Football Club which will keep him at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2026,” read a club statement.

Broja can at least bring some fresh air to the Blues, who are worried about their front line issues in the 2020/2022 season following the departure of Olivier Giroud to AC Milan.

He is considered to be able to replace Giroud in the first team after Thomas Tuchel was reportedly impressed with Broja’s performances on loan at Dutch club Bitesse and the Albanian national team.

Together with Vitesse, Armando Broja was able to score 10 goals and two assists in his 30 matches in all competitions in the Eredivisie.

While with the Albanian national team he has scored six caps during a pre-season match against Peterborough United which ended 6-1, in which Broja contributed one goal and an assist.

“I am very excited to sign a new contract with Chelsea. After being in the academy, it was a special moment to make my first-team debut last year before being loaned out at Vitesse.

“I want to build on this foundation and I’m really looking forward to growing and making an impact at Chelsea in the years to come.” said Armando Broja.
