Hail storm in Chartres-de-Bretagne: the state of natural disaster recognized

The town hall, the Netto supermarket, several shops and cellars … The violent hailstorm of June 3, 2020 had caused floods and mudslides in Chartres-de-Bretagne, a town south of Rennes (Ille-et -Ugly). The firefighters had been forced to carry out about thirty interventions that day in the town.

Ten days to report the damage

Faced with the violence of the weather, and given its exceptional nature, the state of natural disaster has just been recognized. It opens a right to reimbursement of damages on the insured property.

The order having been published in the Official Journal on October 24, 2020, the prefecture specifies that the persons concerned have a period of ten days, i.e. until Monday, November 2, 2020, “To let their insurance company know the damage they have suffered”.
