Manama: Bahrain has started the registration process for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage. The deadline to register is May 29. The Hajj and Umrah section under the Bahrain Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs Waqf informed about this.
Pilgrims can register through recognized Hajj groups in the country. Up to seven foreigners with close family ties to Bahraini nationals are permitted to be included in the Hajj group. Citizens of Gulf Cooperative Council member countries can also register through the same Act.
The cost of various services for performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia has been reduced to 550 dinars. Last year the amount was 650 dinars. In order to attract more pilgrims to the country, the existing restrictions on performing Hajj have been relaxed. The requirement to have a consanguineous male guardian accompanying female pilgrims has been waived.
