Germany is not sending any battle tanks to Ukraine for the time being. With this, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (64, SPD) alienated all of Germany’s allies – and triggered a wave of enthusiasm in Russia.
Scholz, who was recently insulted on Russian TV, compared to Hitler and slandered as a warmonger, has become the new darling of Kremlin propaganda since the failed Ramstein summit on Friday.
The fact that the Chancellor was single-handedly blocking the supply of main battle tanks to the Ukraine puts the Russian agitators into ecstasy!
“Germany has openly defended its position that relations with Russia will continue,” cheered Kremlin propagandist Alexander Sosnowski (67), who lives in Germany, in a Telegram post.
Sosnowski, who regularly appears on Russian propaganda programs, went on to say that “a rift has occurred” in NATO that will split Germany from the “supporters of a long, British-led war.” What he meant was that the Russians are only attributing Western support for Ukraine to Great Britain – after the Scholz decision, he sees Germany as the opposite pole to the British.
Germany “exploits the weakness of the USA” and has duped Poland, Finland and the Baltic states, Soownowski rejoiced. “My opinion is that Scholz won today,” explained the propagandist, warning the Russian media not to overly criticize Scholz.

But the warning was not necessary. In one of the most important propaganda programs in Russia, the former AfD member of the Bundestag Waldemar Herdt (60) was added to praise the Chancellor.
The pro-Russian ex-MP, otherwise an icy Scholz critic, suddenly found nice words for the chancellor and his “tactics” against tank deliveries. “Scholz is trying to buy time,” Herdt explained, admitting that he was surprised at the Chancellor.
“It has to be acknowledged: I didn’t expect him to use this tactic,” the ex-politician said on the propaganda program 60 Minutes, which is broadcast on Russia’s state television channel Rossia 1. “I hope that we will delay it long enough that you don’t have to deliver anything anywhere,” says Herdt.
Means: Germany should delay the tank deliveries until Ukraine is defeated and their tanks are no longer helping.
A photo of Scholz celebrating him as a Hero of the Russian Federation was circulated on Russian propaganda channels on Telegram

One particularly radical warmonger channel went even further on Telegram, sharing a photo of Olaf Scholz with the caption “Hero of Operation Z.” Reverse Side of the Medal channel is a Russian propaganda channel and has more than 300,000 subscribers on Telegram. Its administrators are said to be close to the “Wagner” mercenary group.
Under the photo it reads: “FSB Colonel (FSB is the Russian domestic secret service, editor’s note) Olaf Scholz, who arbitrarily stopped the delivery of dozens of German tanks to Ukraine, will be presented with the Hero of the Russian Federation award.” Another post said that Scholz should be promoted to FSB general.
Scholz had made it clear that no German tanks could be delivered to Ukraine as long as the US didn’t also deliver tanks. The United States has so far delivered significantly more weapons to Ukraine than Germany. In addition, several countries have agreed to deliver German tanks they own to Ukraine. She alienated Berlin and made the Russians cheer instead.
