Hessen: More money planned for pregnancy conflict counseling

More money planned for pregnancy conflict counseling

Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) – A list with the locations and sponsors of all funded agencies in Hesse for advice on pregnancy and pregnancy conflicts should be publicly available in the future. This provides for the amendment of the corresponding state law, which the Hessian state parliament debated on Tuesday in the first reading in Wiesbaden. Minister of Social Affairs Kai Klose (Greens) also announced an increase in the flat rate funding for the independent organizations and an increase in the flat rate per case.

According to the draft law, a total of 11.6 million euros should be available from 2022 to finance the advisory centers of the sponsors in Hesse. So that all pregnant women can take advantage of this advice, the federal states must ensure that there are sufficient advice centers. The promotion of counseling centers is regulated in the Hessian Implementation Act of the Pregnancy Conflict Act. The currently applicable law is limited to the end of 2021.

However, according to the state parliament opposition, the counseling infrastructure in the state is not sufficient. The financial resources of the advice centers are also too low.
