Hesse's Prime Minister Bouffier stops cancer treatment

HEssens Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) has ended his skin cancer treatment. The 67-year-old politician is now in rehab in southern Germany, said a government spokesman on Thursday the German Press Agency in Wiesbaden. He will spend a few weeks there.

The State Chancellery had informed the public at the end of February that Bouffier had an outpatient treatment for a skin cancer diagnosis. Because of an unclear finding on the nose, he had undergone surgery.

Thereafter, the head of government was treated with radiotherapy. His duties continued Bouffier anyway. The number of his public appointments decreased, however.
