Home Ministry warns of crackdown on illegal immigrants to Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: The Interior Ministry has warned that it will take stern action against those who smuggle foreigners into Saudi Arabia. The Interior Ministry has said that those who smuggle foreigners into and out of Saudi Arabia could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to 10 lakh riyals (more than 2 crore rupees).

Authorities warned that vehicles and items used for the offense would be confiscated. The Interior Ministry said violators and helpers should call 911 (Mecca, Riyadh), 999 and 996 (other regions).

Saudi Arabia has arrested 12,358 offenders in a week.
