HRH Prince Moulay Rachid Represents HM the King at the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II

His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid represented, on Monday, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, at the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, which took place at Westminster Abbey in London.

After the funeral ceremony, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, together with the guests present, went to Church House to take part in a reception hosted by the British Foreign Secretary.

HM King Mohammed VI sent a message of condolences and compassion to HM Charles III, King of the United Kingdom, following the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II on September 8.

In this message, HM the King had expressed, in His name, and in that of the Royal Family and the Moroccan people, to HM King Charles III, to all the members of the august royal family and to the British people, His sincere condolences and deepest sympathy.

With the disappearance of HM Queen Elizabeth II, the Kingdom of Morocco has lost a ” great special friend who was deeply respected“, had underlined HM the King, adding that HM the Queen “particularly wanted to strengthen the long-standing friendship between our two centuries-old monarchies”.

In these most difficult circumstances, the Sovereign remembered, with great esteem, “the qualities and merits of this illustrious Queen who stood, invariably, as a symbol of the greatness of the United Kingdom, devoting Her entire life to the service of her country”.

Under the reign of this exceptional Monarch, the United Kingdom achieved much progress and prosperity and acquired great stature both regionally and internationally.”, wrote HM the King in this message.
