A high school teacher in Pflugerville, Texas, USA sparked controversy and was fired after a video in which he expressed racist comments against his students went viral.
“Last Friday, November 11, Pflugerville ISD officials learned of an inappropriate conversation a Bohls High School teacher had with students during an advisory class,” the Pflugerville Independent School District (PfISD) superintendent wrote. ), Dr. Douglas Killian, as reported by the CNN.

In the audio, a student asks the teacher to repeat. The teacher says: “I said: ‘I’m racist’. That’s what I said. You know what it means?”.
In the video, shocked responses are heard from the young people and the teacher doubled down: “It means that, in the bottom of my heart, I believe that my race is the superior. That is what it means to be racist.”

After the embarrassing event, the school authorities decided to take action on the matter and presented a statement regarding what happened.
“We want to reiterate that this conversation does not align with our core beliefs and is not reflective of our district or our culture at Bohls High School,” the counseling discussion was inappropriate, inaccurate, and unacceptable; and this type of interaction will not be tolerated in any PfISD school,” Killian, the school’s superintendent, said in his statement.
The school’s top representative apologized to the students and their families for any “undue stress or concern” caused by the comments, and to the parents whose children appeared in the video without their knowledge.
